IF YOU ARE SEEKING GOD'S DIRECTION

Many of us go through life trying to do everything we can to be successful on our own. When things are going badly we start to look to God for direction, asking Him to fix the mess we got ourselves into. Why only when things are going badly? God is always there for us whether good or bad. If we begin to look for God to direct our lives now, when things are good, He will never fail us. Since He will never fail us or leave us, we won't find ourselves in the bad situations too often. Of course, we will always go through trials and tribulations. God uses them to build us and make us who we are. Here are some scriptures from the New Testament that will help you in building your relationship with God in order for Him to direct you.

Romans 12:1-3
1.Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. 2.Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
3.For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

Ephesians 5:15-17
15.Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16.making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17.Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is.

Colossians 1:9-14
9.For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10.And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11.being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12.giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13.For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14.In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

James 1:5-8
5.If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6.But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7.That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8.he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

As Christians we will endure pain. We begin to find satisfaction in becoming what God has created us for, His purpose and will. Soon after we will find purpose in life and avoid pain at all cost. We can serve God's will by simply obeying Him and honoring Him in our lives. Toss away the old way of thinking and let Him transform your mind and give you peace and overflowing joys. By doing this we will begin to see God's will for us more and more. God may not lay it all out for you, but He sure will give you spiritual principles and situations in life that you can use them. Just maybe it isn't for us to know the actual plan? Who is to say? God, not you or me, and only God! We should always be aware of where we think we are in our spiritual self with God. It is very important not to let ourselves become filled with pride. "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6) True self-worth comes from accepting who we are in Christ and understanding that God loves us as we are. We can also ask God for an understanding of who He is and what He is doing with the trials in our lives. We can pray that He may give our spiritual eyes sight and to soften our hearts to get a greater understanding. It is very important that, after you pray for these things you get right back into God's word so that He may guide you. You must sit in quiet so that He may answer you.

I really hope that you were able to grab on to something in this post today. These scriptures have helped me greatly in my journey to know God. I love you all. I hope and pray that it is God's will for me to continue posting His word. God Bless you and your families! Grace be with you all!
